Mitchel Report Is Much Ado About Nothing

Hi Fans,
The long awaited, highly anticipated lengthy report that Don Fehr admonished will have little effect on Big League Baseball. Case in point, General Motors released a statement today that they plan to renew their multi million dollar MLB sponsorship. Hey, maybe it will help them reduce their inventory of gas guzzlers, that the American people and the air we breathe do not need. How will the Little Leaguer who lives down the block or just down the hall, react to Senator Mitchell's findings (why do they still refer to him as Senator?). His parents will tell him Steroids and HGH are bad for you. Which will definitely cause some confusion for the 10 year old, because he listens when his dad says that Clemens makes more money in six innings than he'll make in 15 years. And, when they do get to go to a game at the grand Yankee Stadium, only when Clemens does pitch, his daddy says Clemens is the best pitcher of all time. So, the young impressionable son now thinks that maybe he should take steroids and that HGH stuff, so that next winter when the house gets cold, he won't have to wear two pairs of sweatpants and a Roger Clemens sweatshirt over his Roger Clemens T-shirt to go to bed, 'cause oil is over $3 dollars a gallon and they have to eat three meals a day and make those payments on the 42" HDTV and the new Chevy Tahoe that sits in the driveway. Yes, MLB will be fine. They'll change some rules and add a few more tests, but the Nation's Pastime will move forward, with little done to rectify the mistakes of the recent past.
Till next time,
Chuck T
