Minnesota Vikings Week 10 Disappointment

Peterson Injured
The 34 to nothing defeat wasn’t the biggest loss of the day for the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. In the third quarter against the Green Bay Packers, star rookie running back Adrian Peterson went down after taking a shot to the knee.
Peterson’s injury might not be season ending, but as the season continues to disappoint, the Vikings might as well sit him the rest of the way.
Problems Under Childress
I don’t see what Vikings head coach Brad Childress has done to warrant a job extension. In fact, I’d be fine if we waved good bye to him at the end of season.
Under Childress, the offense is extremly one dimensional and the defense has been downright terrible. Childress is trying to follow the blueprint put together by the 2001 Super Bowl champions - the Baltimore Ravens. The Vikings want to control the ball on offense and play hard nose defense.
Unfortunatly the Vikings have not been able to execute. The team is ranked 29th in total defense and can’t throw the ball downfield to save their life.
Bigger Problems on the Horizon?
Throughout the tough games, Peterson has remained humble and positive. It’s only a matter of time before he becomes tired of carrying the team on his back.
We’ve seen this before in Minnesota with Kevin Garnett. To the Timberwolve’s credit, they tried to make a run at the championship by signing Cassell and Sprewell.
For the Vikings the time to put a run together is now. We might not be able to afford it once Peterson is ready for a new contract.
