Born on May 11, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan, Milt Pappas (Milton Stephen Pappas) played for the Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 17 year career. Pappas broke into the bigs on August 10, 1957 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 4.06 ERA in 135.1 innings pitched in 1958, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Milt Pappas's best season was 1964, when he posted a 2.97 ERA, won 16 games and struck out 157 batters.
