A.C. Milan has been indicted yet again in the most recent Calciopoli hearings, due to their alleged relationship with Leonardo Meani, a former referee. The charge against Milan is that they had failed to report Meani's irregularity in refereeing the match mentioned in the next paragraph between Arezzo and Salernitania.
Arezzo, a club currently in the Serie B, has now been brought in to the Serie A scandal because of a match in the 2004-05 season between them and Salernitania. Linesman Stefano Titomanlio allegedly mentioned in a phone conservation his "holding back" of Salernitania's offense. Arezzo and three unnamed members of the club have been indicted. The order to hold the offense back allegedly came from Paolo Bergamo, former referee designator, though Arezzo's president denies that he has ever met the him. Sports trials will be heard for Reggina Calcio on August 13th and for Arezzo the next monday.
