Mike Wood (Michael Stephen Wood) was born on September 3, 1954 in Kirkwood, Missouri. After going to high school at Kirkwood (MO), Wood attended Southeast Missouri State University. Wood made his professional debut in the NFL in 1978 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Baltimore Colts and San Diego Chargers over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1982 was Mike Wood's best year.
