Born on August 2, 1973 in Takoma Park, Maryland, Mike Venafro (Michael Robert Venafro) played for the Texas Rangers, Oakland Athletics, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 7 year career. Venafro broke into the bigs on April 24, 1999 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 3.29 ERA in 68.1 innings pitched in 1999, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Mike Venafro's best season was 1999, when he posted a 3.29 ERA.
