Mike Varty (Michael Scott Matthew Varty) was born on February 10, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. After going to high school at Austin (Point Park, MI), Varty attended Northwestern University. Varty made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Baltimore Colts and Washington Redskins over the course of his 2 year career.
