Born on June 9, 1903 in DeLancey, Pennsylvania, Mike Ryba (Dominic Joseph Ryba) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 10 year career. Ryba broke into the bigs on September 22, 1935 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 4.13 ERA in 135 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Ryba's best season was 1944, when he posted a 3.33 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 50 batters.
