Born on December 15, 1888 in Arlington, Illinois, Mike Prendergast (Michael Thomas Prendergast) played for the Chicago Whales, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 6 year career. Prendergast broke into the bigs on April 26, 1914 with the Chicago Whales, and put up a 2.38 ERA in 136 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Prendergast's best season was 1915, when he posted a 2.48 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 95 batters.
