Mike Piel (Mike Lloyd Piel) was born on September 21, 1965 in Carmel, California. After going to high school at El Toro (CA), Piel attended Saddleback College and the University of Illinois. Piel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1989 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1990 was Mike Piel's best year, as he recorded 5 sacks.
