Born on September 3, 1953 in Memphis, Tennessee, Mike Paxton (Michael DeWayne Paxton) played for the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 4 year career. Paxton broke into the bigs on May 25, 1977 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 3.83 ERA in 108 innings pitched in 1977, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Mike Paxton's best season was 1978, when he posted a 3.86 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 96 batters.
