Born on May 30, 1968 in La Junta, Colorado, Mike Oquist (Michael Lee Oquist) played for the Baltimore Orioles, San Diego Padres and Oakland Athletics over the course of his 7 year career. Oquist broke into the bigs on August 14, 1993 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 6.17 ERA in 58.1 innings pitched in 1994, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Mike Oquist's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1999, when he struck out 89 batters. However, others believe that it was 1998, when he struck out 112 batters.
