Mike Nelms (Michael Nelms) was born on April 8, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas. After going to high school at O.D. Wyatt (Fort Worth, TX), Nelms attended Baylor University, Sam Houston State University and Tarrant County College. Nelms made his professional debut in the NFL in 1980 with the Washington Redskins. He played for the Washington Redskins for his entire 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1981 was Mike Nelms's best year, as he had 492 punt return yards, ran back 2 punts for touchdowns and had 1099 kick return yards.
