Mike Mergen (Michael John Mergen) was born on February 13, 1929 in Cicero, Illinois. After going to high school at McHenry (IL), Mergen attended Illinois Wesleyan University and the University of San Francisco. Mergen made his professional debut in the NFL in 1952 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
