[edit] Biography

Mike Lansing (Michael Thomas Lansing) was born on April 3, 1968 in Rawlins, Wyoming. He made his Major League debut on April 7, 1993 for the Montreal Expos. In 1993, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 3 home runs and 45 RBI. Lansing played for the Montreal Expos, Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 9 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Mike Lansing's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1997, when he slugged 20 home runs, hit for a .281 average and knocked in 70 runs. However, others believe that it was 1996, when he hit for a .285 average and knocked in 53 runs.

Lansing was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. The report states that David Segui introduced Lansing to former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski. According to Radomski, he sold Lansing 4 or 5 small purchases of performance-enhancing drugs, and he also said that Lansing was very familiar with testosterone. Radomski gave the investigators for the Mitchell Report two $1,000 money orders that he received from Lansing, one for HGH and one for testosterone. Lansing's name and address, as well as a partial shipping label for one of Lansing's former addresses, was found in Radomski's possession.

Like most players, Lansing did not respond to a request by investigators for the Mitchell Report.
