Born on May 30, 1956 in Glendale, California, Mike LaCoss (Michael James LaCoss) played for the Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 14 year career. LaCoss broke into the bigs on July 18, 1978 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 4.50 ERA in 96 innings pitched in 1978, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike LaCoss's best season was 1989, when he posted a 3.17 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 78 batters.
