Born on August 3, 1959 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Mike Jeffcoat (James Michael Jeffcoat) played for the Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers and Florida Marlins over the course of his 10 year career. Jeffcoat broke into the bigs on August 21, 1983 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 2.99 ERA in 75.1 innings pitched in 1984, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Jeffcoat's best season was 1989, when he posted a 3.58 ERA and struck out 64 batters.
