Mike Dirks (Marion Gearhart Dirks, Jr.) was born on August 28, 1946 in Monticello, Iowa. After going to high school at Monticello (IA), Dirks attended the University of Wyoming. Dirks made his professional debut in the NFL in 1968 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1968 was Mike Dirks's best year.
