Mike Burns (Michael Wayne Burns) was born on April 6, 1954 in Oakland, California. After going to high school at El Cerrito (Richmond, CA), Burns attended Contra Costa JC and the University of Southern California. Burns made his professional debut in the NFL in 1977 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers over the course of his 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Mike Burns's best year.
