Born on March 10, 1961 in Orrville, Ohio, Mike Birkbeck (Michael Lawrence Birkbeck) played for the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets over the course of his 6 year career. Birkbeck broke into the bigs on August 17, 1986 with the Milwaukee Brewers, and put up a 4.72 ERA in 124 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Birkbeck's best season was 1988, when he posted a 4.72 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 64 batters.
