Mike Alford (Michael Deal Alford) was born on June 19, 1943 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. After going to high school at Chocatawatchee (Fort Walton Beach, FL), Alford attended Auburn University. Alford made his professional debut in the NFL in 1965 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Detroit Lions and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 2 year career.
