Michigan or Ohio State?

I think it is pretty obvious that the two best teams in College Football will be squaring off this weekend in Columbus, Ohio. Should make for a great game as it is one of the few times in a college football season that the number one ranked team will play the number two twice in the same season, as earlier in the season Ohio St. went into Texas and controlled that game.

Ohio St. looks like a much better squad than Michigan, not trying to take anything away from Michigan. I don’t think anyone can compete with Ohio St. This leads to the question who will play Ohio St. if they do indeed win this weekend?

For the loser of this game it will most likely be the end of their National Championship hopes. Obviously it is not fair to have the two best teams square off in what is basically a semi-final, while a team like USC could get right into the game.

I’m not counting Michigan out of this game, but it will be tough to go into Columbus and beat an Ohio St. team that really looks strong.

What do you use to determine that Michigan is better than Ohio State? Are there any comparisons between the two? Please explain WHY they look better, other than because they look better.

Michigan has a stellar rush defense, so we'll see if they get nailed the way UT's great rushing defense got nailed. UT could do nothing to stop the pass against Ohio State. That will be the key for Michigan, in my opinion. If they can contain the pass and make Ohio State try to run the ball, they stand a chance. Michigan has an offense unlike any Ohio State has had to play this year. Ohio State took advantage of turnovers when they played Texas, but Michigan has MUCH better ball control. I like Michigan if they can control the ball and make Ohio State one-dimensional. BUT, I don't think they'll be able to do that. It'll be a shootout, but I think Ohio State will win.

They just seem to have that feeling this year like it's their turn. Texas had it last year, USC the year before that, Miami in 2001. Sometimes, there is one team that just seems destined to win the championship, like there's nothing that can stop them. I see that about Ohio State this year.
