Born on September 25, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri, Mike Stanton (Michael Thomas Stanton) played for the Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 7 year career. Stanton broke into the bigs on July 9, 1975 with the Houston Astros, and put up a 5.46 ERA in 85.2 innings pitched in 1980, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Mike Stanton's best season was 1984, when he posted a 3.54 ERA and struck out 55 batters.
