Antoine Walker, forward for the Miami Heat, was robbed at gunpoint Monday evening in Chicago.
Police and witnesses said two men held Walker and another person at gunpoint while robbing Walker, stealing his money, car, and jewelry. Chicago police officers responded to a robbery in a Chicago neighborhood, but could not confirm whether the house was Walker's or not. Luckily during this horrifying incident, there were no injuries to Walker, nor the other person.
But this wasn't the first time Walker was involved in a similar incident. In July of 2000, a Boston Celtics player then, he was a victim of another robbery with NBA center Nazr Mohammed. This robbery took place outside a Chicago restaurant as they were in their vehicle, anticipating the restaurant to open. Walker and Mohammed were approached by three men and were held at gunpoint. The men demanded money and other valuables from Walker and Mohammed.
Walker's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said Walker was fine, but a little shaken up. He said he'd be fine by tomorrow. Walker scored 8.5 points per game this past year, being a key player in their run to the NBA playoffs.
