Mets need to get Santana

It is imperative that the New York Mets stop whining about what happened in 2007, and work on fixing their team for 2008. They need a clear ace, and the perfect player for them is Johan Santana. He is a free agent after next season, and has said that he will waive his no-trade clause, so Omar Minaya, the Mets G.M., needs to make a call to the Twins new G.M. Bill Smith and inquire about what it would take to bring Santana to Flushing, even if it involves Jose Reyes. I know that sounds ludicrous, but Santana is far and away the best pitcher in baseball the last four or five years. Aces like that are so hard to find, that you have to do the best you can to get him. I would also like to see the Mets keep Carlos Delgado, even though there are thousands of fans in the Big Apple that want him gone. I say, he is going to be so hard to trade because of his contract, they are going to have to pay the majority of the money. If they are going to pay him, they may as well keep him and see if he can pull a comeback year, which i think he will. Also, the Mets should offer free agent closer Francisco Cordero a 3-4 year deal to set-up Billy Wagner for the next two years, then replace him as closer in 2010. The Mets bullpen let them down in '07. If the Mets can bring in Santana and Cordero, all of a sudden, they will look like the team to beat in the National League again.
