Merwin Hodel (Merwin Luther Hodel) was born on May 27, 1931 in Rockford, Illinois. After going to high school at West (Rockford, IL), Hodel attended the University of Colorado. Hodel made his professional debut in the NFL in 1953 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
