Melvin Hayes (Melvin Anthony Hayes) was born on April 28, 1973 in New Orleans, Louisiana. After going to high school at John Curtis (New Orleans, LA), Hayes attended Mississippi State University. Hayes made his professional debut in the NFL in 1995 with the New York Jets. He played for the New York Jets for his entire 2 year career.
