Mel Triplett (Melvin C. Triplett) was born on December 24, 1931 in Indianola, Mississippi. After going to high school at Girard (OH), Triplett attended the University of Toledo. Triplett made his professional debut in the NFL in 1955 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 8 year career.
Most people believe that 1960 was Mel Triplett's best year, as he ran for 573 yards and ran in 4 TDs.
