Mel Lunsford (Melvin T. Lunsford) was born on June 13, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio. After going to high school at Lockland (OH), Lunsford attended Central State University. Lunsford made his professional debut in the NFL in 1973 with the New England Patriots. He played for the New England Patriots for his entire 8 year career.

Most people believe that 1976 was Mel Lunsford's best year.
