Mel Hall (Melvin Hall) was born on September 16, 1960 in Lyons, New York. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 1981 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1983, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 17 home runs and 56 RBI. Hall played for the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 13 year career.

Most people believe that Mel Hall's best season was 1992, when he slugged 15 home runs, hit for a .280 average and knocked in 81 runs.
