Mel Conger (Melvin Reese Conger) was born on June 4, 1919 in Atlanta, Georgia. After going to high school at Boys (Atlanta, GA), Conger attended the University of Georgia. Conger made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the New York Yankees. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees over the course of his 2 year career.
Most people believe that 1946 was Mel Conger's best year.
