Mel Clark

Mel Clark (Melvin Earl Clark) was born on July 7, 1926 in Letart, West Virginia. He made his Major League debut on September 11, 1951 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1952, his rookie year, he hit .335 with 1 home run and 15 RBI. Clark played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Mel Clark's best season was 1953, when he hit for a .298 average.
