Brown Fired From New York Knicks

ESPN News reports that basketball Hall Of Fame head-coach Larry Brown will be fired from the New York Knicks. Isiah Thomas will be the new coach of the Knicks. Rumors indicate that Brown may end up as an advisor for the Charlotte Bobcats, along with former University of North Carolina alumni Dean Smith and Michael Jordan.

The Knicks went 23-59 last season, but Thomas thinks they are "on the right track". In the past, Thomas has been blamed for the Knicks troubles because of some questionable moves. Only time will tell whether or not this will be a good change for the organization.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. The Knicks are the most embarassing professional sports organization. Its bad for basketball, its bad for New York, and its embarassing to the Dolan family.

Worst organization in all of sports. I can't wait to see it finally all come crashing down on Isaiah. He should never work in the NBA after this disaster.

What about the Golden State Warriors? The Detroit Lions? The New York Islanders? The Kansas City Royals? I don't think the Knicks are the worse, even in the NBA.

I think as far as an incredible decline in a short period of time, the NYK are pretty incredible. The Knicks were a marquee NBA team from the mid 1980's until the late 90's, with NBA Finals appearances in 1994 and 1998. Plus during the Jordan years, they were one of the few (perhaps the only team) that could legimately challenge the Bulls in the playoffs. In about 5 years they went from contender to complete joke. In addition Isiah's "moves" have blown apart the Knicks' salary cap and preventing them from rebuilding through the draft for the next four or five years. The Knicks wont contend until 2010, at the earliest.

Now that I think about it more, I think this a great move. It's great that Isiah Thomas now has to coach the team of whiners, crybabys, me-firsters, headcases, ego-trippers, overpaid prima donnas, and has-beens. Good luck.
