Max Messner (Max Carlton Messner) was born on October 13, 1938 in Ashland, Ohio. After going to high school at Ashland (OH), Messner attended the University of Cincinnati. Messner made his professional debut in the NFL in 1960 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that 1965 was Max Messner's best year.
