Mavs Turn it on in the 2nd Half, Defeats Seattle

Tuesday Night at American Airlines Center, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Seattle Sonics 112-88. With the win, the Mavs pushed their winning streak to 11 wins, with #12 probably coming Thursday Night vs. Indiana.

With the game deadlocked at halftime, the Mavs turned it on, outscoring the Sonics by 6 in the 3rd quarter and 18 in the 4th quarter, giving this dominant win.

The only hiccup in the Mavericks game was the 2nd quarter where the Sonics, trailing by 11 at the start of the quarter, used their bench to power their team to a tie at halftime.

Yet, the Mavericks Starters stayed in the majority of the 2nd half and finished off their opponents from the Northwest.....

Dirk is unreal:

-For those who have had a sinus infection recently, let me ask you a question:

Would you play an NBA Game and score 31 points and grab a season high 15 rebounds after dealing with a sinus infection that kept you from playing on New Years Eve at Denver?

I wouldn't, but that's how much fortitude Dirk Nowitzki has..... Where many of the European players have been labeled soft, perimeter players, Dirk has added some strength and a knack for delivering when the team needs him.

Right now, the Mavericks do not have much of a bench as Jerry Stackhouse is still dealing with an injury. Thus, performances like Tuesday Night from Nowitzki are crucial to the team's success, to winning the division and securing the #1 seed in the playoffs.....

J Ho is becoming a Star:

-For the second week in a row, Josh Howard won the Western Conference Player of The Week. On the Night when the award was announced, Howard continued his strong play, scoring 21 points and grabbing 9 rebounds.

Yet, when the NBA Gave Out it's Western Conference Player For December, that award went to Kobe Bryant..... Looks like J Ho got overlooked again....

Funny parallel, the Eastern Conference Player for December was Gilbert Arenas of the Wizards.... Recently, Arenas and Bryant have disrespected each other through the media after they played earlier at the Staples Center.....

I seriously doubt either player will call each other to congratulate the other for the award.... They are in a tif....

Old Ball is back in Play:

In a move that will hurt more cows, the old leather ball is back in play throughout the NBA.

So the composite ball was canned, announcing that David Stern and the league made a mistake when they went with a ball that the players ending up hating.

Yet, one disturbing thought came up during the game, as the Mavs got a new leather ball with the lettering "Miami Heat" pressed into the ball......

Thus, the Mavs continue to be reminded of what happened in June when they lost the Finals to the Dwayne Wade led Heat.....

Trap Game?

On Thursday, the drive for another 12 game winning streak is on against the Indiana Pacers, led by Jermaine O'Neal.

Yet, the game everyone in the league will be looking for will be the next night, at those intrastate rivals, the San Antonio Spurs.....

I wouldn't be shocked if Indiana starts out strong as Thursday's game could be one that the Mavs may not have a great start, looking past the Eastern Conference foes......

Tiger Woods 2007.....

Thanks to a great Christmas Gift from my brother, I've been playing Tiger Woods 2007 for PSP..... Thus, this blog entry was a little later on then I thought....

Tiger Woods 2007 is a great game and a bit addicting, as you want to keep playing to improve your game and improve your character in the PGA Tour Career Mode of the game.....

Oh Well, I had a day off..... I needed to kill some time today....
