He never played a game in the NFL. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos last season, but was cut in mini-camp. He was an amazing running back in college, leading Ohio State to the 2001 National Championship, he just went downhill after that.

Oh yeah. I was thinking the 2001 season, I'm always confused as to what year the championship counts as. I mean... it's three days into the 2002 year, should it really be that years championship?

He had one good season, actually one good month of college football in 2001. He is like the Al Bundy of college football.

It's been at rock bottom for awhile. He's just exploring the terrain.

Best part of that article - "It's unclear if Clarett will ever play for the Hitmen, because the team currently has just four players on its roster, the newspaper reported."

This isn't even the AFL...or af2...this is Eastern Indoor Football League. I've never even heard of that.

Some gems from the article: "I’ve never seen a player this excited at this level of play" ... The Hitmen currently have just four players on their roster ... When the coach likened the EIFL to a bowling league ... Anyone else think it's ironic, given his criminal past, that Clarett plays for a team called the Hitmen? This news is just too funny.

Rock bottom is not playing football for a living. Clarett will still be getting paid to play a game. Rock bottom is working 2 jobs to pay your late electric bill, Rock bottom is not having a place to lay your head at night. I don't think he has hit Rock Bottom. I think you are just a Clarett hater. I don't think he is newsworthy, but saying he hit rock bottom made me write you too let you know there are people way less fortunate than Maurice Clarett and maybe you should open your eyes and see the world ain't just CUPCAKES AND KITTENS.

It is great that he will be playing again. At this point, it doesn't matter what venue. Notice the level of excitement by posters at the mere throught of his return to football? For a kid who only played one year of college ball, he has had a major impact on football at both the college and pro levels. The thing is, that inspite of serving as sacrificial lamb OSU and the NCAA, his rights being unprotected by the Supereme Court, massive and unrelenting crucifixions in the press, being blackballed by the NFL, being falsley charged with criminial actions, he has not given up! I think that is great, what a hero!
