Mauer, Twins agree to 4 year extension

The Minnesota Twins announced yesterday that they and star catcher Joe Mauer had agreed to a 4 year deal worth 33 million dollars. Mauer was scheduled for Arbitration sometime in the next few weeks, and was expected to get somewhere closer to 35 million instead of 33.

Mauer is easily one of the top 5 most valuable commodities in baseball. Having him for approximately $8 million a year is incredibly cheap. Great deal for Minnesota.

What the heck is he thinking? Some stiff like JD Drew gets 14 mil a year for five years and Mauer is stuck with 8 and a quarter for the next four? His agent is a MORON!!
