Born on August 8, 1967 in Charleston, Missouri, Matt Whiteside (Matthew Christopher Whiteside) played for the Texas Rangers, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Atlanta Braves and Toronto Blue Jays over the course of his 11 year career. Whiteside broke into the bigs on August 5, 1992 with the Texas Rangers, and put up a 4.32 ERA in 73 innings pitched in 1993, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Matt Whiteside's best season was 1995, when he posted a 4.08 ERA.
