Born on October 16, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Matt Ruebel (Matthew Alexander Ruebel) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tampa Bay Devil Rays over the course of his 3 year career. Ruebel broke into the bigs on May 21, 1996 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 4.60 ERA in 58.2 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.
