Matt Kata (Matthew John Kata) was born on March 14, 1978 in Avon Lakes, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on June 15, 2003 for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2003, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 7 home runs and 29 RBI. Kata played for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 3 year career.
