Born on June 28, 1967 in Berwick, Pennsylvania, Matt Karchner (Matthew Dean Karchner) played for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 6 year career. Karchner broke into the bigs on July 18, 1995 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 5.76 ERA in 59.1 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Matt Karchner's best season was 1997, when he posted a 2.91 ERA and notched 15 saves.
