Born on January 20, 1972 in Oakland, California, Matt Beech (Lucas Matthew Beech) played for the Philadelphia Phillies for his entire 3 year career. Beech broke into the bigs on August 8, 1996 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 5.07 ERA in 136.2 innings pitched in 1997, his rookie year.
