Born on August 17, 1976 in Louisville, Kentucky, Matt Anderson (Matthew Jason Anderson) played for the Detroit Tigers and Colorado Rockies over the course of his 7 year career. Anderson broke into the bigs on June 25, 1998 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 4.72 ERA in 74.1 innings pitched in 2000, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Matt Anderson's best season was 2001, when he posted a 4.82 ERA, notched 22 saves and struck out 52 batters.
