Marv Throneberry (Marvin Eugene Throneberry) was born on September 2, 1933 in Collierville, Tennessee. He made his Major League debut on September 25, 1955 for the New York Yankees. In 1958, his rookie year, he hit .227 with 7 home runs and 19 RBI. Throneberry played for the New York Yankees, Kansas City Athletics, Baltimore Orioles and New York Mets over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that Marv Throneberry's best season was 1962, when he slugged 16 home runs.
