Born on January 16, 1891 in Gordonsville, Virginia, Marv Goodwin (Marvin Mardo Goodwin) played for the Washington Senators, St. Louis Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 7 year career. Goodwin broke into the bigs on September 7, 1916 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 2.21 ERA in 85.1 innings pitched in 1917, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Marv Goodwin's best season was 1919, when he posted a 2.51 ERA and won 11 games.
