Marty Sullivan (Martin C. Sullivan) was born on October 20, 1862 in Lowell, Massachusetts. He made his Major League debut on April 30, 1887 for the Chicago White Stockings. In 1887, his rookie year, he hit .284 with 7 home runs and 77 RBI. Sullivan played for the Chicago White Stockings, Indianapolis Hoosiers, Boston Beaneaters and Cleveland Spiders over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Marty Sullivan's best season was 1887, when he stole 35 bases, hit for a .284 average and knocked in 77 runs.
