Born on October 30, 1886 in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Marty McHale (Martin Joseph McHale) played for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 6 year career. McHale broke into the bigs on September 28, 1910 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 2.97 ERA in 191 innings pitched in 1914, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Marty McHale's best season was 1914, when he posted a 2.97 ERA and struck out 75 batters.
