Martin Still A Jet

6
Vote

New York Jets running back Curtis Martin will be back with the Jets for the 2007 season. Martin may take a paycut to stay with the team. If the Jets do not acquire another back, Cedric Houston will compete with Martin for the club's starting spot.

wow, how old is he? he took quite a drop last season. though if he played all 16 games, he probably would have topped 1000 yards.

3.3 yards per carry is wretched.

The NFL is a business. Teams make money if they win because it makes fans happy to go to games and act out instinctive tribal behaviors like having a unifying emblem emblazoned across one's chest. C-Mart is a fan favorite. Since the Jets can never win, they may as well keep him and keep the fans happy if they want to stay in business. Besides, the Steelers kept Bettis around and look what happened.

true, but the steelers didn't have a bona fide backup to bettis in the past like the jets did with martin. Bettis was in a favorable position this year, bc he wasnt called on till they got to the one yard line. Parker had over 1000 yards, you put a back like that on the jets and martin might look good too.

The Jets didnt make a mistake by letting Lamont Jordan go, the only reason he had a decent year with the jets is because he would come in the second half after martin tired down the defense, and he would follow guys like mawae and fabini. He didnt have a good year in Oakland. Jordan is overrated, and he cant throw the ball for his life, remember the interception against the Ravens.

Martin never should've left the Pats, but we have Corey Dillon now, so who cares. Fortunately in football when I say NY sucks, it's actually true.
