Marshall Shires (Abraham Marshall Shires) was born on February 12, 1917 in Alderson, West Virginia. After going to high school at Alderson (WV), Shires attended the University of Tennessee. Shires made his professional debut in the NFL in 1945 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for his entire 1 year career.
