Marquis Grissom (Marquis Deon Grissom) was born on April 17, 1967 in Atlanta, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on August 22, 1989 for the Montreal Expos. In 1990, his rookie year, he hit .257 with 3 home runs and 29 RBI. Grissom played for the Montreal Expos, Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants over the course of his 17 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Marquis Grissom's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1993, when he slugged 19 home runs, stole 53 bases, hit for a .298 average and knocked in 95 runs. However, others believe that it was 1992, when he stole 78 bases, hit for a .276 average and knocked in 66 runs.
